Please read the following information carefully. We are a state licensed organization and must abide by state laws and statutes.

Under North Carolina Law:

“It shall be unlawful for any person in the county to knowingly and intentionally harbor, feed, keep in possession by confinement, or otherwise, any stray animal which does not belong to that person, unless that person has, within 24 hours from the time such animal came into his/her possession, notified an animal control officer of his/her intentions to either surrender the stray animal to the animal control officer or advertise such stray animal in the local newspaper for three (3) consecutive days. If the individual holding the stray animal elects to advertise the animal in the local newspaper and the prior owner does not respond by the tenth day from the last day of publication foo the notice, the individual who has advertised shall be deemed the legal owner.” “If the advertisement has not appeared within 72 hours, the animal shall be surrendered to the animal control officer. It shall be unlawful for any persons to refuse to surrender any such animal to the animal control officer upon demand.”

If you have found a stray dog or cat and followed the guidelines above you can follow the steps below for a surrender. Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary is a no-kill sanctuary for dogs and cats. We are contacted daily by individuals seeking to surrender their animal or a homeless animal. The sanctuary has limited space and funding.

The Surrender Process

Faithful Friends is a no-kill sanctuary for cats and dogs, we are contacted daily by numerous individuals seeking to bring their animal or a homeless animal to us. Our facility has limited space and funding. The process begins with a surrender application. Complete and submit a surrender application. Please take the time to thoroughly complete the application so that it can be efficiently processed. Surrender applications are reviewed by the staff and response time is 1 to 3 days. The more information we have the more quickly we will be able to respond to your application. Please ensure all requested information is accurate and complete! All pets are evaluated prior to intake. The suggested surrender fee is $50.00. An evaluation does not guarantee acceptance of any animal. We reserve the right to only accept animals that we consider adoption candidates for our sanctuary. We are unable to accept any animals with aggression issues. It is our goal to find the surrendered animal a loving home. Click Here for the Animal Surrender Contract Form.

The sanctuary is currently at full capacity and cannot accept surrenders at this time. Please check back for future updates.
