Compassionate And Dedicated Volunteers Help Make Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary Possible.
The Faithful Friends Can Team collects aluminum cans from across Rowan and surrounding counties to sell at the recycling center, donating the monies earned to Faithful Friends.
Since its inception 15 years ago, through the hard work of dedicated volunteers and countless hours of collecting, sorting, driving, and selling, the Can Team has earned over $100,000 for Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary. We hope the next 15 years will be just as prosperous!
Collecting
We only take thoroughly rinsed, clean ALUMINUM CANS. No steel cans, plastic bottles, or aluminum foil.
Note: For cat food cans, we only take Friskies and Fancy Feast, 9Lives cat food is in a steel can
Aluminum Can Drop-Off Sites
WEST END PLAZA (all hour’s drop-off) – 1935 Jake Alexander Blvd W, Salisbury, NC 28147, located on the back side of Bojangles, across from the Cash Point machine
THE HUDSON-MILLER-TATUM VFW POST #3006 (all hour’s drop-off) – 1200 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury
THE GARDEN GREENHOUSE (drop-off during business hours) – 4070 Woodleaf Road, Salisbury
SUPER SPEEDWASH LAUNDRY MAT (drop off during business hours only) – 1337 West Innes Street, Salisbury Location ONLY, Not Avalon Dr.

Volunteering:
Our can team has been an incredible resource throughout the community in fundraising for the sanctuary’s needs! We need more volunteers! Contact Lora Owen at (704) 640-8839 or lowen@carolina.rr.com if you are interested in joining the team.
We need:
Drivers/Sellers: We are looking for volunteers with a truck (a hitch would also be helpful) to collect cans from the different drop-off location to bring to the sanctuary for sorting. We also need volunteers to take sorted cans from the sanctuary to the recycling center to sell. Please contact Lora Owen at (704) 640-8839 or lowen@carolina.rr.com if you can help!
Sorters: We are looking for volunteers to come to the Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary property on Saturdays to sort collected cans. Experienced volunteers will train you in this process. Other Items To Donate
We also take Christmas lights, vehicle batteries (care, boat, lawn mower), appliance cords (please cut cord from appliance), and ink cartridges (printers and copiers).
Please bag these items separately from your cans, we would love to add them to our recycling program!
